Rev. Melissa Engel is a mother of two beautiful beings, a wife, and the lead pastor serving with Dunlap Prospect and Peoria Northwest United Methodist Churches. With her Masters in Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver and a Certification in Spiritual Direction from the Benedictine Spiritual Formation Program at Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs, she blends her love of spiritual practices, justice and compassion ministries, worship arts, and pastoral care to meet people where they are. She has a special heart for building relationships within and beyond the walls of the church. She has served in Denver, Colorado; Juneau and Douglas, Alaska; Butte, Montana; Streator, Illinois; and, now, Dunlap and Peoria, Illinois. She is an Ordained Elder in Full Connection in the Mountain Sky Conference of the United Methodist Church serving in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference.
Prospect United Methodist Church is located at 300 East Ash Street in Dunlap, Illinois. Situated three blocks east of Highway 91 through Dunlap and just off Cedar Hills Drive (only three miles from Knoxville Avenue in Peoria), we are found under the water tower next to Dunlap Elementary School.
